Within the temple, a woman. Her presence secured by the black Escalade and a small secret service detail idling outside. It was Second Lady Usha Vance. She greeted us with a soft smile as each of us pressed our palms and bowed, sharing a soft “Namaste”.
We weren’t surprised when she walked the few steps to exchange a gentle hug and soft cheek kiss with our friend Gladguru. Few know that our friend Sadguru is one of only a few confidants the Second Lady has in the States. The Vance marriage is a farce. Only Usha’s kind heart and intelligence hold the couple together.
Indian women are tirelessly loyal to their husbands. Despite J.D.’s frequent drunkenness, moderate physical and intelligible verbal abuse, she still manages to keep the (appropriately titled) Vice President in line with a short leash and spiked choker.
Like most Republicans, Vance is a simple but controlling man. He doesn’t like surprises and handles them poorly. Soon, this man will manage to handle his personal affairs so awkwardly that he would not only scandalize our country but also create a personal crisis that will estrange the Executive Branch from the entire world order…
But those are words to tear from another chapter.
Stay tuned….
