~ Let X equal X…

“Your eyes! it’s a day’s work, just looking into them…” *

(320 words, 2 minutes read time.)

>~~~~~X=X~~~~~<

Another Monday. Wake up with hopes to dive back into the writing routine. 300 to 500 words a day, 15 to 20 hours per week. Not a big deal, right? Try to get to it by 10:00. You know, it’s all those morning rituals and responsibilities we must bungle through to get to work. Basically, it’s the same for me as you, and everyone. No foot notes to it.

I’m fortunate to have a loving and caring wife, you’ve seen her on these pages. She works amazingly hard to keep my existence as a bumbling retiree and hobo word thief simple, carefree, and nourished. She feels her role is to keep me as happy as possible for as long as my batteries last. She really cares. I’m very lucky. I think that’s mutual.

And I do have tasks and responsibilities to help her out as well. I would say that I perform them pretty much without question, urging, or debate. I occasionally must be reminded to shave, come to bed, or get a haircut, but honestly, I do most other things pretty much spontaneously. I want my wife to be happy, and it seems that these little things matter to her. I feel very lucky about that, that size doesn’t matter, except maybe when moving furniture and opening jars.

But of course, this isn’t about any of that. This is really about those three or so hours I look forward to writing for my seven or so subscribers, those who follow, or maybe like what they read on torncorners from time to time. Of course, I’ve nothing but appreciation and thanks to each and every one of them, as well as the tens of thousands of anonymous readers who I fantasize in thought are following me surreptitiously.
