Well, you know
We’d all love to see the plan

I don’t think it will take twenty years, but in the next ten years, we will have AI in a box. Once the billionaires, you know who they are, once they’ve spent their fortunes developing stupidly massive and wasteful AI Data Centers, the crap piles we’ve seen popping up in arid, drought-prone places. Desperate places, where they can bribe local authorities of a naïve population’s electricity and resources. Once they have collected everyone’s personal and online information. Things will change.
First off, the billionaires will soon discover that most of us have little worth keeping secret. They will discover that the things they think are important aren’t very important at all. In the short term, someone will discover, invent, or create things in ways only real people can. People enjoy the things they do. How often have you met someone coming home after a long day of working at a Data Farm, happy to kiss their spouse and say “come on, honey! Let’s jump into bed and whoop it up!”
Also, keep in mind, we got to the moon with less computing power than a first-generation Nokia cell phone, the ones with the rubbery buttons. It won’t be but 10 years before some MIT or Caltech grad student comes up with something with the equivalent computing power of a few Dating Centers (Data Renters), the size of a tampon, and has China or Portugal turning them out to sale at Target or 7-Elevan for a few bucks.
Keep in mind that most rich folk, those billion and trillionaires, they aren’t very bright. Would an intelligent person think to build thirsty electric dinosaurs out in the desert, just for their own edification? Why would they go out of their way just to piss people off? It’s because, just like our resident president, the only things they thrive on are negative.
It’s a big person who gives hope, compassion, love, the good stuff… Giving is the cure these folks don’t get. They only take. They also don’t realize how vulnerable they are when the people who give finally choose to give back. And we will.
